Genealogies, lines of descent
and duality in population models

Begin: ~14.15 h
End: ~15.00 h

The workshop focuses on the description of genealogies and lines of descent in the standard models of population genetics, which involve resampling, mutation, selection, recombination and migration (or some of these). The role of duality will be explored.

The goal is to present the current research within the SPP1590, to communicate in a systematic way some key concepts and to learn about what happens internationally.

For this reason there will be a minicourse on genealogies and their evolution based on metric measure spaces and a survey talk on the behaviour of lines of descent. Some foreign speakers will be invited. Finally a number of talks by SPP members will be invited.

Confirmed Speakers:

Matthias Birkner (Survey talk - ancestral lines) - Johannes-Gutenberg Universität Mainz
Peter Pfaffelhuber (Minicourse on genealogy) - Albert-Ludwig-Universität Freiburg
Anita Winter (Minicourse on genealogy) - Universität Duisburg-Essen
